Pirate Cru Wines Slurpy Puppy GSM 2017

I'm reliably informed the Slurpy Puppy GSM is by far the top-selling wine in the Pirate Cru range. It's easy to see why given it oozes crowd-pleasing appeal.

The name 'Slurpy Puppy' is a cheeky take-off of Chateauneuf du Pape... Du Pape - da puppy - you get it...

Dive into Cherry Ripe slice and glace cherries. I find a lick of mint hiding in the background along with a hint of tomato bush. A little earthiness wriggles forward but it's hard to deny the approachability of this wine. Medium-bodied with lingering fine spices, it would eat up pizzas, burgers or a sausage sizzle. Give it a slight chill to further enhance its appeal in the warmer months. Overall, it's nicely done.

Drink now to three years.
