Curly Flat Western Pinot Noir 2020

From a low cropping vintage, the always anticipated Curly Flat Pinots will be released in May. Pardon the bottle pic with 2019, but you get the idea.

Leaner, more skeletal than the Central and Estate blend, this shows undergrowth and tension early. Made with 18% whole bunches and wild fermented before seeing 14 months in oak (none new), it is awash with dark fruits and red plums. But the more I look at it the more it needs to calm and unwind with red apple acidity staking its claim. Over a couple of days, it takes a turn and shows its charm. One for the vault, give it a couple of years.
