A cool wine this. I'm a big fan. Made with 100% Cabernet Franc, there is not a lot of it in the Hunter let alone being made as a stand-alone variety. Well played here Daniel Payne.
Take a whiff - it's so pretty. Lavender, potpourri and violets have a graceful presence. A touch of fruit sweetness is evident but I'm drawn to the hint of meatiness and black fruits. There is a seductive pleasure about this wine that is hard to resist. A tasting morphed into a couple of glasses - a clear nod of respect to the maker. Nights beside the fire pit, lamb on the coals, or a good cheese board will do. Great stuff.
