Gundog Estate Hilltops No.1 Shiraz 2016
A joyous wine in many respects. It smells good and tastes even better. Lots of pleasure found here from the Hilltops.
A wine that moves freely. Although it's not purely sleek from gate to post, the easy drinking appeal is high.
Roasted beets, some meatiness courtesy of cured meat plus some dark plummy fruit. A milky chocolate like sweetness sweeps through quickly before a wood spice type finish trims the edges.
Good drinking but will match roast meals and BBQs better. I'll conservatively sit at 91 but 92 wouldn't cause too much of a stir either.
Drink now to five years.
