Goodbye 2018 and hello 2019!

What a year 2018 has been!

I'm so grateful for the opportunities that have come my way and I'm equally as grateful for the wonderful people with whom I've shared some invigorating conversations. There's been a lot of learning, some mistake making, some risk-taking, but an absolute bucket load of fun and enjoyment.

Thanks so much to the winemakers who've driven me around their patch of dirt, given me their precious time to chew the fat, thrown barrel samples into my glass and even shared a meal - the learning from these experiences is immense. Thanks also to the wineries and marketers for offering me the chance to look at some amazing wines - the privilege that I get to explore the wine world one bottle at a time is never lost on me. In 2017 I posted some 633 reviews - 2018 eclipsed that by an additional 100! Woah! I still scratch my head how that came to be.

On top of that, I also managed to host a range of wine dinners and contributed several articles to two magazines and an online retailer. It's something I have thoroughly enjoyed, and with a few irons in the fire for 2019 already, watch this space.

To the readers and followers of my site and my social accounts - thanks for the chats, banter and challenging conversations. It's always great to engage with people who are so passionate about what they love and what they do. Your support is appreciated!

One common thread I'm noticing among a host of people is the greater consideration given to what they put in their mouth. Be it vintage, region, price point, cool or warm climate, organic or natural wine, drink what makes you happy and feel good, but most of all, drink better rather than too much.

Best wishes for a fantastic 2019!
