Pizzini Pietra Rosa Sangiovese 2016

A taste of this and the old Montell Jordan song from the 90s, "This is how we do it," rings in my ears. The second of three Sangiovese's in the Pizzini range, this stands tall and proudly demonstrates what a great drink this variety can produce.

Earthy and tight to start, dark cherries and sour red cherries find their feet. Dried herbs and soft spices unfurl gradually. A crunchy like acid sits high on the palate with black tea-like tannins closing the curtain on a sustained finish. Great stuff and well worth the money.

Drink to ten years.
