An easy drinking Sauvignon Blanc made with some effort in the form of barrel fermentation.
The barrel ferment portion was 14% in one-year-old French oak. All the varietal characters have been ticked off. There's a creamy mouth-filling appeal to the wine, but apart from the expected cut grass, melon and gooseberry with limey pith to finish. There's a metallic character which I find curious and distracting all at the same time. It's not blatantly obvious but can be seen with some fossicking. And once found, I can't shake it.
Drink now to three years.
