Walk on the textural side. What a wine stretching Semillon to new places!
Wild fermented with 30% on skins and 30% in barrel then maturing on skins for 195 days. The finished wine was not fined.
It's not the lemony and limey Semillon you know - just putting that out there...
Gripping and captivating are adjectives which spring to mind. Suave and sophisticated, long and moreish are but a few others.
Aromas of poached and stewed apple, suggestions of elderflower and soft scents leaning towards field flowers. It carries a Pinot Gris like texture blowing the lid off what you'd expect with Semillon. A touch of musk or lavender lurks within but it's something I can't pin down. Mouth-filling, peach skin furriness brushes across the palate. Damn, I just want a bottomless glass.
