Cabernet Franc is experiencing a renaissance in Australia of late. Some very clever wines are being produced, be it fruit forward with no oak or generous fruit with old oak, the landscape for this variety has never looked better. Here's another well made wine to add to that delicious list.
Aromas of cola, tomato paste and purple flowers get you in the mood before roasted peppers, some meatiness and blue berry fruit swing into action. Old oak was used for 12 months enabling the fruit stand up, but its the savoury appeal of this wine is what brings most joy. Some leafiness hides in the background with some dried Italian herbs sliding through to a persistent finish. A big thumbs up.
Drink now to five years.
