Soul Growers 106 Vines Mourvedre 2017

Soul Growers have access to some wicked parcels of fruit. This Mourvedre block was planted in Nuriootpa back in 1885. The spread of urban development has seen this vineyard reduced to only a precious 106 vines. And what a gorgeous wine these vines deliver.

Just enough fruit was handpicked to fill one three-year-old barrel. Pretty aromas surge forward. Red flowers and berries dance in the sunshine with cedar and tinges of dried herb. There's a savoury core underpinning the fruit which just washes through the mouth at ease. It's a wine that gains some lovely momentum and just pulls you closer with each sip. Earthy, licorice and dried herb feels clutch to a long and flavoursome finish. Gorgeous!
