Made from free run juice and seeing barrel fermentation in 100% new French oak, the fruit comes from the oldest vines on a quarter acre block grown in the Barossa sub-region of Greenock.
A textured delight, it opens with scents of flint, gun smoke and honeyed tones. Bright straw in the glass, what strikes me about the first sip is the mouthfeel. That width! Veneers of pleasure fall over themselves to get amongst the action. Think yellow flowers, hay and dried straw, apricot kernel, pears, preserved lemons plus a touch of almond nuttiness.
