John Wallace Wines Sisters Chardonnay 2021

I was recently asked what I wanted to drink more of in 2022. Among a couple of others, Hunter Valley Chardonnay was one on my list - it's so underrated. Get out there and dip your oar into this ocean of beauty. This Sisters release from a new small producer is a ripper. Get around it.

There is so much happening here. It took me on a journey. There is some depth, it calls you over slowly. It's that gentle caress. That listening ear. That sip slow and embrace the company of a loved one. That admiration of an autumn sunset in a seemingly handpainted sky. Layers of pleasure reach out and build interest. Ripples of caramel, burnt fig and barbecued peach shimmer. It just goes on. A faint dab of lime, some nuttiness, the soft oak has me hooked. I sat on this for a while and just wouldn't let go. A most impressive Chardonnay now, a couple of years bottle age will only enhance its presence.

Drink to eight years.
