Too often Chardonnay and Pinot Noir soak up the Yarra Valley spotlight, yet the region's Cabernet is first class and deserves similar praise. Here's an excellent example of that fact.
From a 40 year old vineyard comes this slick piece. It sways and weaves through the mouth with absolute ease.
Evocative and pretty aromas throw a welcome mat out. The fruit is fresh and bright. So soft and delicate to taste, cedery oak plays a neat supporting role. I pick up a smokey character too which I find charming. The fruit sways and moves through the mouth effortlessly. Put it away and embrace the riches this will bring with time under its belt. Beautiful!
