A great Riesling off vines which have been grown organically since the 70s and were certified in 2012.
Polish Hill River is roughly 9km from Watervale, another popular Clare Valley subregion. Watervale produces citrusy and fruit driven Rieslings whereas a more minerally drive and taut acidity highlight Riesling from Polish Hill River.
This release certainly holds true to form. Any concreter would be happy with the box work done here. The tight acidity is framed up perfectly bordering the palate. It's that tension plus the slatey and river stone like drive which are the highlight. Bath salts plus underripe green apple cling to a long and textured finish. Just beautiful. Oysters or fish and chips - you choose.
Drink now or age gracefully.
