Another fabulous release from Hayes Family Wines. Planted in the 1940s, this Block 3 Mataro site is now certified organic. Have a sip of and you'll soon see why you should drink more Mataro.
Scents of pretty violets and red flowers whisk you off to higher places. Red plums, vibrant dark berries and touches of dark chocolate all mingle seamlessly. Etched with a delicate earthiness and a savoury edge, there's an unmistakable thread of cured meats running through the core. A fleck of cola emerges on the second day of tasting. In typical Barossa style, this would be an ideal match for a German meat platter. An excellent wine.
