Graciano can be a blockbuster and blow you out of the park. Not so with this example I found.
There's respectable depth which comes with the territory, but it's thinner than I expected. Purple flower and fruit aromas plus chirozo move to some black earth and tar before blue fruit characters step forward in the mouth. The fruit doesn't seem get its chance to shine before long drawn drying tannins leave the mouth with a powdery and chalky feel with a tickle of spice for good measure. It's those tannins that dominate throughout and food needs to be at the ready. A stew and a glass will do the job.
