The 2012 was excellent, hands down, and this 2015 release is hot on its tail.
Scents of coffee and cedar charge from the glass. There's some earthy touches as well with flecks of dark chocolate throughout. Dense mulberry fruit is laced with blackberry paste. Some coconut husk seeps through, too, as does some cola. Delicate exotic spices hum along partnering the fruit perfectly. There's much to admire about the width and soft length - so moreish and so delicious. The more it gets comfortable the more an ever so slight Cherry Ripe trait emerges. Super fine tannins are sprayed throughout the mouth with what seems a meticulous precision. They hang long drying ever so gradually but there's enough plumpness to them to keep them buoyant. This is the kind of wine you can sit on for hours just admiring it as you sip slow.
