Compared to its 2016 sibling, this 2017 is quite skeletal yet the pretty factor is high. An excellent Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir.
It was a fabulous exercise to have both the 2016 and 2017 in the glass beside one another. The brighter and lifted appearance here compared to the 2016 is fascinating.
A blend of four different Pinot Noir clones grown at 410-420 metres above, scents of blood orange and mandarin peel partner ripe cherry fruit perfectly. Much lighter in the mouth and nimble on its feet, it's a Pinot that is fine and delicate. You can easily be caught up by its supple feel and glamorous appearance. Baked rhubarb and dark cherries gather momentum inconspicuously before woodsy spices and dry herbs swarm on close. Utterly delicious.
