A smashing cool climate, medium bodied Shiraz. What a peach! Take a bow the Ballandean Estate team.
The Opera Block sits beside the winery and behind the stage where the annual Opera In The Vineyard is held. I'm happy to be corrected but I'm pretty sure the Opera Block is also part of the Adopt a Vine scheme.
Dark berry fruit is pinned on all sides by delectable spice. A wine which is aromatic, textural and generous - so much pleasure factor lies within. Cinnamon spices keep calling me back as do waves of blue fruit. I keep swirling and leather and cherry aromas glide on by finishing with puckering tannins. Damn this is a great rendition of Shiraz.
Drink now but bottle age will only bring further reward to 2028+
