Cooks Lot Allotment 1111 Pinot Noir 2016

If you haven't heard of Cooks Lot, it's time to introduce yourself. Value is the buzz word for me. Underpriced for the quality delivered, there's great drinking across the range.

This Pinot gets the head nodding with praise. Expected Pinot aromas are all there plus a whiff of red meat. The back label says tobacco and that cannot be disputed either.

It starts light but builds momentum nicely. Dark plums and red cherries shape the flavour profile. A little meaty edge with the fruit rubbing reasonably deep on the mid-palate. Fine pepper and clove spices rattling the cage. Smooth, a red apple acid crunch squares things up at the death. No complaints from me with this.

Drink now to five years.
