A lazy lunch and Chardonnay was calling me. This was the only one listed by the glass but I knew I was in good hands - I've known Rochford to reliably produce the goods previously.
It's been a while since I've seen a Rochford wine mind you, so this was a more than appropriate occasion to reacquaint.
Soft and shapely, I just like the flow of this wine. Concentrated white peach, licks of butterscotch, vanilla, and brulee. Some faint touches of nuttiness and nougat sit up to attention in the mid-palate. Dashes of lemon juice and a persistent ginger spice draw out a long and satisfying finish. Great drinking.
Drink now to five years.
