Aged for 12 months in French oak, 25% of which was new.
Cool nights and a steak would be ideal bedfellows for this release. Dark plums and some blue fruit are met by shades of clove, dark chocolate and black pepper. Some brightish acid demonstrates a keenness to play although the fruit seems to thin off a fraction quicker than hoped. Aging won't be a problem, that's for sure. I suspect it will score better in coming years.
