Sourced from seven blocks (it was nine in 2017), 20% saw new French oak with an average maturation for all fruit 14 months.
I had this in the glass for a couple of hours before having a look, yet despite this, it still seems quite tense. Licorice, dark chocolate, cut green herbs, roasted capsicum and black fruits all stake a claim for attention. If anything it comes across on the greener side and doesn't have me surging with interest - unlike the 2016 release. The wet Coonawarra vintage certainly playing its hand. Perhaps time will be its friend?
