The Hoffmann vineyard was planted between 1888 and 1912. Over a couple of days of tasting, this unfurled beautifully.
Concentrated dark fruit is full and firm yet some air coerces it to calm. Pretty aromas of sage, cedar and char roll out a welcome mat. Some fruit sweetness is evident with wood spices also in the mix. Handfuls of blue fruit rise up with time in the glass. Rich with milk chocolate feels through the mouth, caramel shows its hand too before soft spices tickle the palate and linger on a long persistent finish. One to snuggle up to when your heart needs warming.
