Patina Jezza 2016

Is this the best wine I've had from the Orange district? You betcha! It's the type of wine you peruse slowly yet the bottle is drained in no time. I could not resist going back again and again.

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and a drop of Petit Verdot (75/17/7/1).

Attractive scents of violets, coffee, cedar, dark chocolate and handfuls of roasted capsicum all lurch forward for your attention. There's a bristling energy about this blend with hazelnuts, blueberry pie and earthy tones creeping into the frame. Loaded with fruit, time in the glass sees a savoury side of leather and cigar box ride stepping up. Oak is well managed with a silky smooth delivery through the mouth. Licks of spice add further interest on a long and moreish finish. A really impressive wine!
