Yangarra Estate Hickinbotham Grenache 2019

It is hard to ignore the beauty this delivers. Another excellent Grenache in the Yangarra Estate portfolio.

Grenache is more often than not about fruit elegance and fruit purity but I can't help but think this wine is all about those tannins. The first release of this wine under the Yangarra label, it is abuzz with red fruits early - all soft and delicate. Raspberries, cranberries and red cherries hit the dance floor and bust a move. Fermentation occurred in 1800L ceramic amphora and remained on skins for 90 days and seeing out another eight months. The wine sees no pressings nor any oak. Powdery feels to close, there's a sophistication about its swagger but the tannins have me hooked. Delicate, long and fine - incredibly impressive! Measured and balanced, excellence all the way.
