Bright red cherries and raspberry fruit, this Grenache from Ox Hardy just sizzles.
A big step up from the debut 2020, this saw 10% whole bunches and six months in old French with the fruit sourced from Blewitt Springs and McLaren Flat. Given the same winemaking, it speaks of the excellent 2021 vintage.
Raspberry coulis and rhubarb set the scene and get the juices flowing before the red fruits whip up a frenzy. Red apples tuck in behind too. There is a little firmness on the mid-palate but this calms. Some dusty dirt road earthiness, soft baking spices just purr throughout. Long and moreish, this is a damn enjoyable Grenache. Well played Ox.
