A new label for Deakin Estate celebrating the 'Mighty Murray' whose vineyards border one of the world's longest navigable rivers.
I am often asked to recommend a 'reasonable' penny pincher. There's heaps on the shelves now and the quality is incredibly varied. This goes okay. Nothing flashing. Nothing gob smacking. Just solid drinking for the money.
Quite spicy, lightish through the middle. Weight isn't it's thing though it slides through with ease. Exotic spice and black pepper make the most noise setting up a corrugated path. Red berries and cherries tick away well enough. A suggestion of milk chocolate too. Some citrus like acid adds zip. Not a bad option at all.
Drink now to three years.
