I bought this at the cellar door in December. David Lloyd told me at the time he had released this a little earlier than he had hoped. Six months later I pulled it out to share with friends and I'm so glad I did.
Framed to perfection, there's a delicious balance of fruit and acid. Restrained white stone fruit walks in unison with a squeeze of lemon and grapefruit. An eloquent match stick, a hint of jersey caramel creaminess and delicate toast add layers of interest. Some cashew runs in late but the textural presence screams class.
All this from three hectares and from five chardonnay clones.
Drink now to ten years.
