One of the d'Arenberg staples is this Viognier Marsanne blend.
Viognier heavy (72/28), all those apricot things kick around. There's even a bit of green apple, almond meal and marzipan. Some texture in the mouth but the mid palate has a yawning gap - a bit like a dodgy football team's defence. Flavour loiters on the edge, not dissimilar to the crowds sitting roadside in the Tour de France. Ginger spice chips away on exit. I liked it more with a cracker or two and goat's cheese. Perhaps food is the answer.
Drink now to three years.
