A blend of Barbera, Nebbiolo and Sangiovese from the New South Wales Hilltops and Orange regions.
Splashing this in the glass and taking a whiff I immediately picture long tables, plentiful food and friends catching up slurping on big glasses of this blend.
Whilst each of the Mediterranean varieties here can be seen, they all combine well and do the merry dance with ease. Medium bodied, the mid palate is literally humming with excitement. Crunchy acidity and chalky tannins, red fruits aplenty. A great example of what a 'food wine' should look like.
Drink now to five years.
