Granite Belt Chardonnay from a little dry grown vineyard in Ballandean.
Aromas of custard tart and lemon curd. Despite not being oaked, some creamy characters from the fruit step up. Firm in the mouth, there's a tension about its delivery - clenched fist like. Perhaps some bottle age for another couple of years will temper it. Perhaps not. Hard lemonade fruit lingers mid palate to a longish finish. Would be better with food.
Drink 2019 to 2022.
