What a beauty! This Sangiovese is quite charming and ready to embrace a classic Italian dish. Armed with a sip slow moreishness, get comfy and enjoy the ride.
It opened up and showed better on the second day of tasting. I have no problem with that but I'd suggest giving it a decant if drinking soonish.
Morello cherries and black cherries beat the drum. Some red plums cut in before the Italian things make a move. Tomato paste, oregano and some thyme add interest but things get serious when the acid shows its hand. Well handled, there's some brightness but it has enough of a bold edge. Gliding through the mouth, its silky feels show some class leaving a parting gift from the cherries on exit. Smart stuff.
