Yelland and Papps Blanc 2022

If you enjoy Chardonnay you'd be sure to enjoy Roussanne and no one does it better than Yelland and Papps. Now with four interpretations of the variety, this Blanc delivers interest for days.

From the Barossa sub-region of Greenock, Michael and Susan Papps work off the guiding principles of minimal intervention and taste.

Pressed, wild fermented and seeing large format French oak for six months, SO2 is at a minimum and the wine is not filtered. This is a sip and consider wine.

Yellow stonefruit fills the mouth with almonds, ginger and biscuity things. A little sourdough complexity moves in with an apricot kernel cameo. This is the business. For a fleeting moment I thought I saw some pineapple husk but that whizzed by with jet shoes. The lemon juice vibe skips about on close with the ginger spices reaching long cuddled by a vanilla custard creaminess. Drink on a cool autumn or winter evening as the sun falls from the sky or even sit it beside a creamy pasta dish. Either way, this is very clever.

Drink to three years.
