Briar Ridge Signature Stockhausen Chardonnay 2021

There is plenty going on here to amuse those who enjoy a Hunter Valley Chardonnay. More people should dive into the beauty that the region delivers with this variety. In this case, a  little bit of richness goes a long way.

Barbecued peaches, a touch of fig, golden apple and a little drizzle of honey - it's quite the introduction with a little flinty thing going on. The ripples of interest are easily navigated given the balanced and cruisy nature, akin to stand-up paddle boarding on the early morning waters. Cashews add some nuttiness with cinnamon spices lapping up on close. 60% sees new oak for ten months and the vanilla and spice it brings is more than welcome. But balance is the key and it gets it right. The long drive teases with a lemony cameo urging you to return for more. Sure, why not?

Drink to five years.
