Briar Ridge Dairy Hill Semillon 2022

Go back to 2013 and this Dairy Hill Semillon was winning every trophy under the sun and deservedly so. With a proven ability to age, it's a wine worth adding to your black book.

Sure the Hunter Valley has several esteemed Semillon labels but The Dairy Hill has joined that bunch as far as I'm concerned.

A wine with terrific fruit purity and a sizzling line of acidity, it sways and folds its way through the mouth effortlessly. Wines of class speak their own language and this certainly whispers to you.

It takes shape in a tall Riesling-type bottle for the first time, a break in the tradition.

Lime juice and lime leaf, a drop or two of Bickford's lime cordial adds some concentrated detail with a neat lemon zest and cut herb folded through. The silky and delicate feel through the mouth comes from precise handling.

An excellent Semillon for now, but if aging is your thing, this will be a tearaway success given its form over the last decade. Go here.
