A Barossa Shiraz that is more focused on good times than getting in deep, this is a great wine to splash in some glasses and kick back with.
Only 13.6% alcohol, it's a far cry from most in the district that sit around 14.5%. Barossa Shiraz is known for its bigger styles rather than the juicy medium-ish bodied example we see here.
This 2022 shows plenty of energy and exuberance but also wants to show a little serious side. Dark plums and red berry compote with dark chocolate, there is a vitality that is carried on the shoulders of blackberries. A baked berry pie complexity can't be missed either and that is the moreishness I keep coming back for. Some pan juices and meatiness come with the territory but it's hard to resist going back again and again. It's a great slurp and a delicious take on Barossa Shiraz.
Drink to five years.
