With fruit sourced from the Adelaide Hills, this Patroness Chardonnay is named after Grandmother Ethel Nancy and it's a tidy expression of the variety.
There is a little pineapple and mango thing going on early before it shifts gear and gets into the zone with lemon juice, white fleshed peach, cashews and a lick of custard. It glides about with ease offering plenty of interest which I find enticing. A concentration of lemon curd lands late and keeps the wheels turning on a sustained finish. A big tick from me.
Drink to five years.
