Not the most conventional blend but gee it works. There's drive, length and a fabulous presence all bundled up in one neat package.
Sheets of granite minerality glide through the mouth along with plums, blackberries, dark cherries and licorice. It has a meaty edge with gamey highlights. Fine black tea tannins ride ont he coattails of blackberries that reach long. Drying, the pitter-patter of fine spices and a chalky/powdery finish drive through on a persistent finish. A very popular wine in the cellar door, you could snuggle up to this by the fire on a chilly night and be immensely satisfied. It's very well done.
