Chardonnay with a good dose of oak. This is a roast chook night special from First Drop Wines.
Butterscotch and Werther's original make the first impression. Barbecued peach, white fleshed nectarines and toasted cashews add layers of detail. Long and persistent, there is a ribbon of creaminess that draws out to an elongated finish. It has a linear shape through the mouth and the acid still shows its youth. This will age nicely over the medium term but chase down some southern fried chicken or a roast chook and you'll be grinning.
