This is the best Riesling/Semillon blend released by Brash Higgins to date. A 70/30 field blend, it is insanely delicious with a glorious mouthfeel and shape.
From the sandy foothills of Blewitt Springs, the vines were planted in 1975. The fruit was co-fermented with wild yeast before seeing time in seasoned French oak.
Golden straw in appearance, it kicks off with scents of apple pie, concentrated lemon juice and fine slivers of ginger. There is plenty of depth but it holds a fabulous presence and intriguing shape highlighted by a silky drive. That apple pie and pastry drive has me hooked. With a persistent length that encourages slow sipping, I could drain a few glasses with ease while watching the sun fall from the sky. That little bit more volume is the clincher.
