A fabulous Nero d'Avola from Golden Grove Estate. Pretty scents flow through to a delicate mouth perfume as it boasts a medium-bodied frame - just beautiful.
Purple flowers and lavender light things up before black cherries, blackberries, raspberries and red plums go about their work. There is a distinct earthiness with the hum of Granite Belt minerality. Tense early on, this rode the waves for a few days of tasting. I'd be curious to see how it ages to eight years and beyond - it certainly demonstrates the capability to get there but Nero is not the typical variety you'd tuck away. Black tea tannins close out an impressive wine with a long and drying finish. Yes!
