A blend of Hunter Valley and McLaren Vale Shiraz, the label is a tribute in part to Andrew Thomas' father who himself was a winemaker in "The Vale".
An attractive opening of blueberries - lifted and vibey, met with dark chocolate and scents of oak. A few more swirls and scents of Cherry Ripe rise up. Nice. Dense through the mid-palate, there's some warmth clutching to the spiced plum and blue fruit. Licks of barbecued meats contribute nicely as does the good width and length adding appeal. The finish is dry with a cocoa tannin quite focused on the back palate. Good stuff for $25.
Drink now to five years.
