A gorgeous Pinot Noir. There's so much here to adore and admire.
Naturally fermented, 16 months in French oak (38% new), unfined and unfiltered.
A myriad of aromas cascade from the glass. Autumn leaves, mushroom compost, plums and dark cherries. A little more time reveals some blackcurrant leaf and a faint whiff of pine needle. As with the Chardonnay release, there's some tension holding this back and that was still the case on day three of tasting. Time will certainly be its friend. Silky smooth through the mouth with wonderful depth of fruit, a lovely chew of tannin and fine spices wave you off at the door. Gorgeous indeed.
