Some folk frown upon "food wines" as though they are a lesser quality. I see this perception as unfair particularly when Mediterraneans made wine to enjoy with food in the first place. Here's a wine oozing versatility.

The food matches for this Lagrein are endless when you consider sausages, stews, burgers, slow roasted meats, game - I could on. There's enough weight to pull it through and enough interest to urge another sip or more. Think dark cherries, pepper and some baking spices with licks of dark chocolate and choc raspberry brownie. Add shades of meatiness and a sprinkle of dried herbs for the win and you are in business.
