An earthy and minerally number, it's all big. Big mouthfeel. Big tannins. By far the most masculine style of Pinot I had in Central Otago, there's certainly some clout only to be introduced by some aromatic prettiness via violet dried red flower aromas. Char from the oak chimes in and sticks as does five spice hanging long. But there's no escaping the thick set frame though where dark plums and cherry compote have a strong presence before silty tannins close.
