Such a pretty wine from the Waipara region. Only 45 minutes north of Christchurch, it's a region that doesn't get the respect it deserves.
It's quite unassuming before launching it's personality upon you. Bright strawberry and juicy red berry fruit pull all the strings. There's an enticing depth and a clutch of earthiness drives through long.
Dried red flowers keep folding their way back in with a super fine spice ticking away.
An incredibly enjoyable Pinot. I could be pushed for another point.
Drink to 5 years.
