These Flying Winemaker wines have covered a bit of ground sourced from two regions in New Zealand, the King Valley and now this Cabernet from Margaret River.
A stern and herbaceous wine, this stands with its arms crossed and chest puffed out. Dried herbs and roasted peppers skip out early. Black fruits and berries need some coaxing to relax and come to the party. Some fruit sweetness is evident with a firm mouthfeel seizing up and not letting go. That sweetness keeps coming back at me each time I put the glass to my mouth. I'd battle to finish a glass. Some prefer this style mind you.
Drink to five years.
