Hayes Family Wines Hoffman DV Shiraz 2021

Boom! The power and the poise. The longevity of this Shiraz will have you punching the air no end. With superb structure and balance, go here. One sip is far from enough for this excellent Barossa Valley Shiraz.

Shy on opening, it got into a grove after a couple of days. The lesson here is a good decant or put it away and forget about it - the reward is thrilling.

Joyous blueberry and boysenberry fruit coil themselves around a muscular frame. Some sweet blackberry jam slides in late and then moves on as quickly as it arrives. Delicate spices roll through the mouth - think brown baking spices and cardamom. There's even a touch of cured meat. Cedar and a lick of caramel, a ribbon of dark chocolate runs long. The tannins are firm and churn away - yes! I'm sitting up tall and I love being dragged along for the ride.
