Sorby Adams Morticia Sparkling Shiraz NV

Sparkling Shiraz is a great drink but sadly it gets pigeonholed as a "Christmas drink". Park that idea and reap the reward when you pop that top off this on any of the other 364 days of the year.

Waves of silky and moreish dark chocolate come at you. Dense plums and dark berry fruits line up alongside Christmas cake (funnily enough) and fruit bun spices that can't be missed. Some earthiness kicks in but the splash of Barossa Valley Brandy takes this to the next level. There is and sheen and polish about its presence as it rolls about the mouth filling every crevice. Time in seasoned French oak shows with some cedar and clove. The finish is highlighted by silty and dusty tannins that ride long.

A wine that is great for autumn days or cool nights by the fire pit given its alluring moreishness, that gentle fizz heightens the mood. Yes!

Drink to five years.
